The MacKenzie Institute is dedicated to researching and documenting the career of golf's preeminent architect.

We are working to establish a digital repository of historical materials related to the works of Dr. Alister MacKenzie — an online museum and research archive for golf courses and MacKenzie enthusiasts around the world.

The MacKenzie Institute is pleased to announce the new book The MacKenzie Reader: Writings on Golf Architecture and More by Dr. Alister MacKenzie — Edited, with an Introduction, by Joshua Pettit — Foreword by Ben Crenshaw.

The culmination of 15 years of research, The MacKenzie Reader is a compendium of Dr. MacKenzie’s lost writings accompanied by photographs and routing maps. Included are 32 articles and essays written by MacKenzie, originally published in disparate publications between 1915 and 1935, as well as 12 foldout page routing diagrams, and 11 additional essays by noted MacKenzie experts from around the world.
