Dr. Alexander “Alister” MacKenzie [Born: 30 August 1870 — Died: 6 January 1934]

As we commemorate the legacy of Dr. Alister MacKenzie for his 150th birthday, we examine how his ideas have impacted golf around the world for over a century, and are continuing to shape the future of golf.

MacKenzie’s life was dedicated to bringing the greatest health, peace and joy to the greatest number of people — he was a populist of golf. He sought to minimize the outbreak of war through his ideas on camouflage and to promote peace through the economization of recreation — namely golf.

To honor this milestone year, we continue our dedication to the preservation and thoughtful sharing of his work, so that his legacy of innovation will be passed down to future generations of golfers.

We hope you can join us for our presentation of the “MacKenzie at 150” exhibition at a date to be announced in the future.
